WHO WE ARE
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is one of the largest youth-led networks that represent nearly 220,000 members in almost 7,000 chapters active in 50 states as well in the District of Columbia , the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. FCCLA is a national nonprofit Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) for youth in Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) education, or related courses as determined by the state department of education. Any student who has taken or is currently taking any FACS class is eligible for membership. FACS teachers serve as chapter advisers and create a chapter structure that is conducive to their needs and schedule.
As the only youth organization with the family as its central focus, youth are empowered to address personal, work, and societal issues through individual and chapter projects. Involvement in FCCLA: The Ultimate Leadership Experience, offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life necessary in the home and work place such as planning , goal setting, problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal communication.
